2007 World Proxy Race

After building two cars for the 2007 Thingie Proxy, I decided to return to my scale racing habit and started work on a car for the WPR. This series is for sports prototypes as found in the IMSA GTP and Group C classes from the mid-80s to early-90s. Bodies had to be hard shell, and I didn't have anything suitable so I acquired a Slot.it Porsche 962c. I wanted to build a chassis that was different from the thingies and decided on an inline, reverse plumber design. I originally wanted to duplicate the 1987 LeMans car driven by Canadians Scott Goodyear, Bill Adam and Richard Spenard but problems in the finishing stage forced me to settle for a fantasy livery. Oh well, ' brown stuff' happens, right?

The car is now basically ready to go and I'm just waiting for the series dates to be finalized before shipping the car off.

As sometimes happens, real life got in the way of this series and it has been delayed until early 2008. Nonetheless, my car has been sent off and is now resting peacefully in Tasmania, waiting for the racing to start.

*** Unfortunately, this series has now been CANCELLED, and my car returned, but the following pics show my entry as it developed.
